Tips On Increasing Conversion Rates On Your Landing Pages

When it comes to conversation rates, there are a lot of theories out there. Having build many websites, and successfully converted thousands of customers, I wanted to give you some quick tips on how you can increase conversion rates on your website quickly and easily.

Increase user interaction
When a website requires the visitor to engage and actually do something, it is likely that user will stay on the page longer. A longer page visit is more likely to turn into a conversion. A great tool is a quick visitor questionnaire or survey. While you might lose some people at this stage, the more serious visitor and therefore most likely to convert, will participate. Another interaction can be providing an email address, which has the additional benefit of being able to follow up with that user, more on that below.

Capture user contact information
Email marketing is a big topic I won’t explore here but needless to say it is important to capture some contact details, preferably the email address of the visitor. This allows you to follow up automatically with that visitor over a period of time. Studies have shown that it takes multiple exposures before a conversion takes place, which email marketing can do easily.

converstion rateUnderstand your visitor
Who is your ideal customer? Target that exact person. Don’t make a landing page for the general public, make it with your ideal prospect in mind so you can increase chances of conversion. The user should be able to relate to the page he’s visiting.

Make your website relevant
Too many times, I click on an advertisement and it has nothing to do with what the advertisement was about. This is a huge waste of an advertisement budget if that’s happening to you. Make sure your entire funnel, from advertisement to landing page is congruent, easy to follow and most importantly simple. Don’t overcomplicate it or try to make it too fancy, it’s paramount that the visitor can find what they are looking for quickly or they will vote with their feet – or mouse button in this case.

Test, and then test some more
Never stop testing. Optimising conversion rates is all about constantly trying something new. New technology has made it incredibly easy to split test an idea against the current page. Keep changing little things to see what the effect on conversion rates are. Change colors, pictures. Keep testing new stuff!

Why Social Media Is Important To Your Business

Social media sometimes seems to have taken over our lives. In our personal lives, time is wasted “liking” and “tweeting” about random things but in business, when used correctly, social media can drive your business forward. Here I’ll look at some of the key drivers of why you should be utilising social media platforms as much as possible in your own business.

Know Your Audience

In any industry, whatever it is that you’re selling, it’s important to know your audience. Social media is a great and cheap way to learn about your target market. Platforms such as Facebook give you enormous insight into your audience – from their age and gender all the way to their exact interests. What’s more it’s a great way to interact with your customer base and receive instant feedback from your target market. Sharing new ideas on Facebook or Twitter will give you an insight into what they think – which makes traditional market research obsolete.

The above gives you an insight into another major benefit of social media for businesses – social platforms give you the opportunity to share new contents with a specific group of people almost instantly with no cost. This has made it easier to launch new products and increase interaction with your core audience.

social mediaCheaper Advertising

For those advertising online, social media can make targeting your customers more effective. You can literally advertise to an exact “type” of person specifying things such as age, marital status to where you live and how much education you received. You could drive more traffic to your sales funnels with less effort and less of a marketing budget. The landscape is changing however, and in some very competitive industries, we’re already seeing costs go through the roof.

This makes advertising much more effective if used appropriately; which is really a skill on its own. While mastering social marketing advertising can be tough, you could outsource this to digital marketing agencies who specialise in for example Facebook advertising.

Increase Brand Loyalty

All the above help in increasing your brand recognition and brand loyalty. While this applies more to B2C then to B2B businesses, the ability to be in front of your audience every single day throught both social interaction and social advertising can increase brand recognition and loyalty much cheaper than traditional methods could do.

How To Find The Best SEO Provider For Your Industry

Whatever industry you’re in, if you’re business is fuelled by new customers and leads (as most will be) SEO is important to your business. Whether you’re a farrier, a shop selling equestrian gear or a hotel – being seen by your customers is important. So let’s see how you can increase the number of people seeing your website online.

What is SEO?

which SEO to chooseSEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It’s a really fancy way of saying “trying to get on top of the Google search results for specific search terms”. Many digital marketing agencies will do their best to confuse you and keep you in the dark about what they really do. The truth is SEO is complicated, but at the same time, it’s not as magical as some providers make it out to be.

How much should I pay for SEO?

This a very loaded question. We provide SEO services to many different industries, including the horse industry, and even we can’t give you a real figure. It really depends on what keywords you want to rank – in other words – when do you want your website to show up in Google. Certain keywords will be easy to rank for and therefore much cheaper. But if you’re going after something as competitive as “horse riding” it will cost you an arm and a leg to be number one in Google. A good SEO agency will be able to explain clearly what their pricing structure is and what they are doing with the budget you’re giving them.

It’s vital to really understand the competition you’re facing. The fast way to do this yourself is Google a few of the terms you’d like to be on the first page for and have a look at the websites on there. If these are “authority” websites, in other words, big well known sites, then it will be much harder, and much more expensive to do the SEO for your website.

Who should I hire?

This again is a frequently asked question, and it really depends on your budget. If you’re earning potential from a new client is large, you are likely to have a much bigger budget and can therefore hire a much better SEO agency like us. On the other hand, if it’s more a status thing, and you won’t be reaping much reward from being on top of Google, you probably won’t want to pay too much and the better agencies out there are likely to be out of reach.

The main key is to get some referral before hiring a freelancer of a full agency. Have they had success in raising other websites in Google? How do former clients of their talk about them – were they happy with the service?

Another deciding factor should be your industry. Have they had any previous success with your industry. Different industries can be completely different, and doing well in one, does not necessarily mean they would perform well for your industry.

So as you’re realizing by now, choosing the best SEO service provider for your particular industry is not as straight forward as the industry in general would want you to believe. The one thing I’d like to stress once again is to look at the previous results from the SEO freelancer or marketing agency, and make a decision based upon that.

How To Dominate Social Media In Your Market

Social media isn’t complicated. It’s easy. For example, you have Twitter. You tweet a message to your audience. This get’s shared. You grow your audience. However, while the theory is simple. Everyone who has tried it, will know just how difficult it can be. Nothing happens instantaneously. You might tweet daily or weekly for a year, with no retweets, no likes, no followers. It takes persistence to win at social media. Most people don’t have this persistence and that’s why they lose at social media.

Probably the best person to follow if you want to dominate social media in your market is Gary Vaynerchuk. I’ve added a video of him telling you to fake it until you make it. It shows that you need to stick to what you’re good at, and ensure you keep going and never give up. On the flip side, before you get going, you also need to ensure you are positioning yourself and branding your company in the right way to ensure maximum impact.

Don’t trust this guy? Well maybe you need to reconsider. Gary Vaynerchuk is a New York Times and Wall Street Journal Best-Selling author, who is an investor in some of the social media platforms we discuss and has an amazing marketing agency that caters for very interesting clients. So he knows what he’s talking about and can make a difference to your marketing strategy.

Rebelmouse, which we’ve talked about before, is an important element of your strategy but no one is using it to it’s full potential for some reason. We’ve searched the Internet for companies that are doing a good job with their social media and want to use them as an example. Take for example,, which launched recently. This website has a Nature’s Best Cures Rebelmouse page which gathers all its content and makes it easier for people to find what they are looking for. It can be done better, and we have a list of 10 things we could change right now. But the important thing is they are taking action, and they are consistently putting out new content which is great.

What’s more, this all feeds into the Nature’s Best Cure’s Twitter page which is building followers. Again, they could be doing things better, but they are consistently tweeting and posting new content on this social media platform. If they continue to do this, I wouldn’t be surprised that they build a large following on Twitter within a year or so. They key is that they keep going and like the video above explains, fake it until they make it. They have positioned themselves well, and know their target market by the looks of it. So this is a key example of how to market your business. Keep going, keep posting, keep producing new content. If natural cures and herbal remedies is your market, you need to consistently find new ways to help your readers.

How to set up an eCommerce platform and promote it

We have some exciting news! While we started off as a marketing agency to farriers, in the last few years, we’ve really grown away from this. We’ve taken on some exciting clients recently, and have even been asked to build out and promote our first e-commerce website. The website will allow people from all over the United States to call a psychic. The user will be paying for each psychic reading, and the total cost will depend on the length of the call. Needless to say, this is a huge project for us!

What we’re doing

psychic reading sitesI really want to outline some of the actions we’re taking right now, in the hope of helping some other marketing agencies out there struggling to expand their expertise.

The first step has been building out the ecommerce website. We used WooThemes and a WordPress theme to build the website. This plugin makes the whole process incredibly easy and takes away the need to understand complex coding.

Since most of the business will be done over the phone, we’re creating the website more as a way to communicate with people wanting a psychic reading but not sure how to get one. For example, we’ll be adding posts to the website that provide the user some of the best California Psychics reviews. This will help make the decision of whether to call or not much easier.

What’s our next step

We contacted several customers and asked for a testimonial. We wanted the testimonials to appear very natural, and used this California Psychics Testimonial as a template. So far we’ve collected close to 20 testimonials which we’ll be uploading to YouTube this week. We’re just waiting for some of our people to edit the videos to make them look a little more professional.

Over the next few weeks, we’re helping our client to hire new tarot readers and putting in place a system where they can offer a free accurate love tarot reading online to new clients. This is incredibly fun to build out, as it will really add value to so many people’s lives.

I really hope that this post has provided a lot of value to some of you. I know similar posts by other blogs have done the same for me, so this is me hoping I’m returning the favor with this blog. If you have any questions about our service, or the psychic service, just send me an email and I’ll try to respond.

How To Use Social Media To Market Your Business

Social Media is all around us, but how can you use it without wasting an entire day on Facebook and Twitter? Here we’ll take a look at the most popular social media platforms and let you know exactly which accounts you should open, how to set them up correctly and how to use them. If you follow the advice laid out in this post, you’ll be ahead of the game and know more than 99% of your competition.

Facebook is the big one! Everyone is one FB, and you should be too. The way to connect with your customers and potential target market is not through a personal platform but a business page. We tend to set these up for out clients to make sure they are optimized, but setting one up yourself isn’t that hard. Here is a great example of a company’s Facebook page. It has a description, a link to their corporate website, and regular updates on what’s new with this company. It’s one of the best ways to keep in touch with an audience that’s online all the time.

Twitter is another major tool you should have in your online marketing. Twitter is a little limited due to the small number of characters you can use, but they have a very large user base, and setting up a twitter account is incredibly simple. Again add a link to your own website, make the user name relatable to your business name and keep your audience updated on all the latest offers and promotions. A great example of a twitter profile can be found here. I would suggest you don’t try and reinvent the wheel but copy the format of these examples to get the quickest results.

social media for a businessWhile Pinterest is more time consuming than both FB and twitter combined, the audience isn’t there just to waste time. If you have a consumer product to sell, Pinterest is where you need to be concentrating your time and effort. The majority of Pinterest users are young and female. Most of the users are American, but other countries are adopting this platform as well. The real key with this social media tool is that you can display pictures of your products which will be seen by all the potential buyers – studies have shown that women are actively looking for ideas on what fashion to buy on Pinterest. It might not be the most suitable platform is you don’t cater to this audience, but if you do, I would suggest you put all your effort into Pinterest. A great new alternative to Pinterest we’ve been experimenting with is Pearltrees. This Pearltrees site is a great example to follow.

How To Improve Your Brand Awareness For Customers – Locksmith Case Study

We’re a small office, so we don’t really have a receptionist or a security guard patrolling the premises. We have a rule in the office that whoever finishes work last locks up the place. Everyone has a key, so whoever arrives first in the morning can open the door themselves. We just found that this has worked best for us.

The reason that I bring this up is that I had a major problem in the weekend. I came in to do some work and locked myself out. I immediately looked for a local locksmith near me. To my surprise I couldn’t find any phone numbers when searching online. I searched for the best locksmith in Anaheim and not a single local locksmith came up.

locksmith marketing case studyThis brings me to my case study – the importance of being visible to your customers. Let me ask you a question: “What do prospects see when they look for you or the service you provide?” If the answer is anything but your company, then you’re not doing things right. You should do everything you can to be the most visible company in your industry. Both online and offline.

The best way to increase visibility online is through carefully designing your website. This will ensure that your website is listed near the top when people search for you online. This is exactly what we do for local businesses in California and surrounding areas. You also need to ensure everything they see is indeed positive. For example I have seen companies that when searching for them, all I see is negative reviews about them. If there are any negative reviews on your company name, then you have to make it a priority to remove those or at least remedy the problem.

Another method we use to ensure your company is more visible to potential new clients is by providing local magazines and newspapers with content for their news stories. Start building relationships with local media as soon as you can. This ensures that whenever relevant, you will have a quote for the local media and are thereby building your brand awareness and more importantly ensuring people will call you when they need your service.

So back to our locksmith example to conclude this short case study. I was a customer in need. I had an emergency, yet there was not a single company that could help me that was on the top of my head. I had to go and search for a company. This type of customer is most valuable, as they need your service now. You must make the effort to ensure you’re more visible so as not lose out on desperate potential customers like myself last weekend!

What To Look For When Hiring New Staff

While it’s great news if a small business is growing, the pain of hiring a new staff member can be enough to go from loving your business to hating it. So we did some research, and found you some of the best tips on hiring and keeping new staff on hiring

1. The first step is to always be clear about what and who you need . It’s important that before you post an ad, you define the position clearly. You should understand very clearly what you will need them to do, and what you’re expectations are. List out all the responsibilities and then figure out how you can get those things done without hiring. If after doing this exercise, you still think you need to go out and hire someone new, then take that list and put it in your job advertisement.

A good job descriptions with clear and well thought through responsibilities is more likely to find a good candidate. Vagueness will likely attract someone with no clear targets in mind for the position.

2. The second big tip on hiring is to find out whether anyone at your competitors are looking to move. This is where your personal network will come in handy. Finding someone who knows the industry, knows your competition and is likely to already know how to do many of the required tasks is a big advantage.

3. Don’t get recruitment agencies involved unless you really can’t find anyone using your own network and job adverts. Agencies tend to be very expensive and in our experience are looking for that commission, not necessarily the best person for the job.

4. A great source of new candidates are your current employees. Do they know anyone who might be suitable for a position. If you’re a little bigger, you might want to put up an internal job posting. A second source we use a lot is online job boards. If we see someone we think is a good match for the firm, then we look into them some more. Usually their CV is available to us.

5. Do your research on potential new employees. While it’s not legal to use an online background check service for purposes like hiring, there are other uses. Read the guidelines before checking someone out.

For those looking to delve a little deeper into people, we recommend this Instant Checkmate review.

6. Make sure the person you’re considering will get along with current staff. Will he or she fit into the culture you’ve carefully created. If they are not compatitble, no matter how suitable they might be, do not hire them. They’ll create more problems than they are worth in many cases.

With these hiring tips, you’re sure to make a better decision. We wish you the best in your hiring process!
